DAS ENDE DER LIEBE

noch blüht das schweigen
gelb, gelb! und rot
für all die wunder -,

ich singe jedes lied, male
den himmel blau wie immer,
strich für strich.

das ende der liebe kommt nachts,
wenn meine hände müde sind
und unsre geister tanzen.

Michaela Gabriel

THE END OF LOVE

silence still blooms
yellow, yellow! and red
for all the miracles -,

I sing each song, paint
the sky its usual blue,
stroke by stroke.

the end of love comes at night,
when my hands are tired
and our ghosts are dancing.

KLAENGE

verdünnte klänge
halbhoch, vertieft
tropfen aus augenwinkeln
im bleiernen rhythmus
der stadt

du
verschluckst dich
blauäugig
an ihnen

MICHAELA A. GABRIEL, web designer, passionate traveler, communication junkie, lover of music and books with a need for people in her life, lives in Vienna, Austria.  She's been writing poetry since age 13, but likes to think she has improved since then.  English became her "poetry language" about a decade ago, her mother tongue German only making guest appearances.  She's been published in quite a few e-zines as well as in print, e.g., in the anthology In Our Own Words:  A Generation Defining Itself, Vol. 3.  She is also editor of the German edition of Niederngasse and is desperately trying to find time to finish her first chapbook.
